What it means
The carta responsiva is a document signed by buyer and seller that records the vehicle handover: both parties’ details, the car’s identity (VIN/NIV, plates), price, date, and conditions.
Why it matters
It establishes from what moment each party answers for fines, accidents, or debts. It does not replace the invoice or the ownership change, but it is your evidence of the transaction while you complete the paperwork.
What to check
- Verify that VIN/NIV, plates, and seller details match the invoice and their official ID.
- Include price, date, mileage, and the general condition of the vehicle.
- Sign two originals and keep a copy of the seller’s identification.
